Hey Sugar Candy Store in Roanoke

Hey sugar is a really awesome place. I don't so much enjoy candy but the ice cream here is exquisite. I asked for a small ice cream cone and got a large but it was divine because the waffle cones are made fresh there and they are so good. The atmosphere feels like you're inside a Katy Perry music video.

Nice small candy shop which located in Roanoke historical downtown. This store carries large variety of chocolates, candies, drinks, and ice cream flavors to choose from. Price is fair compared to other candy stores we been at. We bought coconut cup, dark chocolate orange peel, and coffee truffle to try. All three turned out to be so delicious, definitely will come back here again. We'll try some of their ice cream next time.

The only reason I went in this place is to get me some of that chocolate covered bacon the Justin for sale is always talking about on 95.9 The Ranch and they didn't have it because they're chocolatier was doing a summer away from their candy store and I guess that's the only one that can put chocolate on bacon. I'd sure love to give it a great review as soon as they let me know that chocolate covered bacon is back and they got me a handful for free! Because I am awesome and I wasted my gas money and still bought stuff there any how cool little store I must admit

This place is incredible for candy lovers. The store is organized and clean, the selection is just out of this world. The customer service is very good and the prices are comparatively reasonable.I'm sure they offer more but the have a wide selection of bottled drinks of all sorts, a counter with artisanal chocolates, Scooped iced cream, and lots of new and old style candy.Been there more than a few times and they've never disappointed me.

Candy is pretty costly for some things. I like their retro soda area, but I wasnt going to pay $2.50 for one. It smelled amazing in there.

I got a cookies and cream milkshake it was really good! It's a cool place lots of candy choices and ice cream flavors.

Heard about this place some time ago, finally trekked on out. We will be back. The Bizzy Bee ice cream was a favorite (lavender and honey). I enjoyed Tennessee Honey and Southern Bourbon ice cream as well. A lot of ice cream and candy offerings. You won't be disappointed with the selection.

Kacee the store manager was awesome. She listened and took her time to understand what I wanted. Even after ordering the wrong thing the first time she didn't give up. On the second time she ordered the right thing and she now has a life time customer!!!! Thank you Kacee, I appreciate everything you did to make my day!

One of our family favorites to stop in after a nice meal down the street. They are always very welcoming and helpful to help fix your sweet tooth craving.

This a great place to pick up some Old Fashioned Candy and Fudge. Have an Old Fashioned Soda also. This house it is located in its about 100 years old. It belonged to a friend of mine who passed away 7 years ago at the type old age of 93. She would love this place. She had a set tooth.

Super cool candy shop with a gem of an ice cream counter and delicious homemade chocolates. This place isn’t just a dream for your sweet tooth, it’s perfectly designed for nostalgia. The selection of candy is too broad to describe. Whatever you’re looking for is probably there. The ice cream is great (try the jacked up coke), and we especially love their selections of specialty sodas. The prices are a little elevated, but still very much worth the visit. No matter the evening, the place is filled with people and happy vibes.

Cool place, but dangerous to your wallet. 😉 Tons of candy--old-school, classic ones and all the new ones, too. Many different bottle soda choices, too. But, it's all pretty expensive, so you have to just watch it.

They have to kind of candy from my ear. The ice cream is so good and you get taste differnt ones before you choose. There are several differnt flavors.

Employees are so nice and friendly. The selection of candy and beverages are fantastic. So many choices from the hard to find old fashioned kind to the new kitschy. I love the chocolates that are offered and the ice cream is delicious. I always make time to visit when I go to Roanoke

The sales ladies didn't wear the masks. It was very strange considering that the candies are out uncovered. I would not go. I didn't want to make a scene as I was there with 2 other moms.

This was the best experience! Such a quaint store in a beautiful area and my goodness on the ice cream options! I had the Texas honey whiskey and the southern bourbon butter pecan and boy oh boy where they delicious! The area is very nice as well, allowing for walking and exploring the little shops in the area. Hey Sugar is in a prime location - if you're eating at Hard Eight or Twisted Root make sure you go to Hey Sugar for dessert. You won't regret it!

This (very clean) place has everything. Even the very hard to find candy you haven't seen in stores/convenient stores in 10+ years! Loved it

Great selection of modem and vintage sweets. The ice cream parlor is adorable as well. Great on a date night or to take the kids.

We love coming here every time we go to Hard Eight BBQ next door. They have a large variety of treats, candies, drinks, ice cream. They also have seating out front and in the back with space for the kids to run around outside. It's a great little place!

We had my daughters 5th birthday party here and it was amazing! Kacee (the manager) was so accommodating from the planning process, setting up, and the entire party! Everything went on with out a glitch! They were so organized and helpful! All the guests raved about how it was the best party they have been to. I loved that it was not your average “cookie cutter” type party! This was so different than the traditional parties I have done and loved how it turned out! Would highly recommend them for any event!

Finest candy shop around. This is was my first time coming here and I fell in love. After a family dinner we walked over to see my uncle's favorite spot. They have huge varies of bulk candy you can buy by the pound. They also have a wonderful handmade candy selection, fudge, ice cream, sodas, and candy I haven't seen in decades. Every member in my family from child to adult found a variety and walked out with a smile. I can't wait to come back next visit.

Fantastic store to visit that makes you feel like a kid. There are all sorts of unique candies and drinks from decades past to all the modern stuff. Fun place to take your kid for an evening ice cream cone or celebration.

I loved the exterior and interior of this candy/ice cream shop. The place itself is full of nostalgia. They had great ice cream and a variety of ice cream’s, candies, specialty sodas and so much more. I will definitely be back and would recommend making a trip to the store!

Ton's of nostalgic old school candy and drink's. This place will transport you back to your child hood or earlier.Very clean place with plenty to choose from.The prices are reasonable and the staff was very friendly.This place stays packed so just enjoy the sights and the time machine of stock they have while you wait.

This place is the best. If you close your eyes and imagine a old school candy and ice cream shop - this is what you’d imagine. We really love the chocolate selection as they are very high quality. Try the Peanut Butter Heaven balls. Yum!

Cutest candy store ever. Its located in an adorable small town and it's almost 50s themed. They have every candy imaginable and ice cream and small toys. They have a large gazebo in the back with tables so you can eat your treats outside.

They have an extremely large assortment of candies. The stock includes many limited additions and hard to find candies. They have a wide range of soda pops, also many rare bottles. They serve hand scooped ice cream cones. Also, there are two screens that are always playing two different Disney movies with seats for younger kids.

Oh gosh, what can I say about this place. I love that I can buy a variety of sodas, the bulk candy is awesome, though I havent tried their icecream yet I've heard it's really good. Took my mom here so that we could get some dessert after being at the Twisted Root, she absolutely loved it to. Extremely nice staff and just an all around good place to be.

From the time you walk in all you smell is wholesome goodness! Almost impossible to leave without buying something! Very friendly young ladles working with delightful attitudes. I'll probably gain 5 pounds just posting this.

The clerk was very friendly, and made our 4th of July a little more enjoyable with homemade ice cream. I'm terrible at remembering names, but it was Nutella and waffle cone flavored. Yummy!

It is a cute little boutique. I was disappointed to see the ice cream they sell is bought and served rather than other places were they actually make their ice cream in-house. It’s a perfect place for little children
